Tropical Centre worldwide:
The headquarters of Tropical Centre in The Netherlands consists of 15.000 m2 of greenhouses, located in Helden-Panningen in the province of Limburg. A second department of 4000 m2 of greenhouses is located in Rijnsburg, in the province of South-Holland, and serves mainly as nursery and stock up. Through a close cooperation with a number of nurseries worldwide who produce hundred thousands of plants specially for us, we can offer you a large collection of high quality and exclusive plants.
We are specialized in the import and export of a variety of stem forming yucca's from Mexico and Texas that we reroot in our own nursery. In addition we have a large collection of agaves, tree ferns, musa, palm trees and other very exotic plants. Our average stock consists of over 10,000 full grown plants up to 5 m high.
2011 A new retail website:
Since the year 2000 Tropical Centre was mainly an import/export company who delivered wholesale.
Of course our wholesale clients picked the nicest plants and received great reviews in forums etc., because of the good quality of these beautiful plants. Leaving us with the lesser quality and less beautiful plants.
As of this year we changed that!
Because we import all our plants ourselves, we are able to select the nicest plants for you and make them available to you only via our retail webshop!
The superior quality plants in the web shop and the new concept “what you see is what you get” for most of our plants, makes it THE webshop for your exotic plants.
And by orders over € 1000,- we ship for free within Europe! This may seem a lot of money but here are the benefits for you: most plants are rooted in big pots (too big and heavy to send in a carton box). By shipping on a pallet you receive much better quality and you save up to hundreds of euro's on transport. Invite your friends and order together to get free shipment!.
Our history and quality is trustworthy and well-known worldwide. Find out by ordering and we do our outmost best to serve you.
Tropical Centre, its origin and background:
Tropical Centre was founded in December 2000 by Roland Smeets, but already started the set up in 1996. In 2001 Roland Smeets started an collaboration with Drs. Nico Klijn, leading importer of cacti and succulents since the 1980's and founder of Winco Cactushandel, Klijn Horticultural Imports and American Desert Plants. Through an extensive network of worldwide contacts, many years of experience in the nursing and sales of sub-tropical plants and a keen understanding of the market, in short time Tropical Centre has developed into one of the main providers of sub-tropical plants in Europe. Meanwhile they have an worldwide name in the field of Mexican and USA stem forming yucca specie. This cooperation has helped us to develop a successful formula where a thorough knowledge and experience has been coupled with a large expertise in the field of display and sales of exotic plants and objects. As such we do not only offer a highly varied and spectacular collection of palm trees, dicksonia's, yucca's, agaves, and other exotic products, but also the assurance of quality, expertise and good after sales.
