This species comes originally from Africa and Madagascar and are more frequent at 900-1800 m. The trunk will grow up to 4-5 m tall and the fronds form a dense crown and are large and dark-green. Cyathea dregei can reach a length of 3 m. It is a tree fern with a stout dark trunk and in Africa it withstands frost and bush fires. It grows rather slowly and is growing in a sunny or partly shady location in well-drained soil and needs an abundance of water during the growing season. Bear in mind that our periods of frost are not as dry as the ones in Africa. Nevertheless, this is a tree fern absolutely worth trying. -10°C.

In our webshop we sometimes have this tree fern for sale.
