Cyathea robusta is found in rain forest to coastal forest up to 400 m in Lord Howe Island and Australis. The trunk can reach a height of 3-5 m, the stipes are brownish at the base and more white to the leaves wich may reach 4 to 5 m in length! Cyathea robusta is one of the few frost resistant species although frond damage will occur. It is robust like the name robusta says and fast growing. Like most tree ferns they do well in humus with consistent moisture. Winterhardy: -4C°.
