Growth: Solitary columnar cactus, up to 1 m tall, 30 cm in diameter.
Blooming Habits: The Astrophytum ornatum blooms in summer. The 7-9 cm wide flowers are pale yellow and scented.
Watering Needs: Moderate water in summer, allow the soil to dry before watering again. Do not water in winter.
