Origin: USA (southern Arizona), Mexico (Sonora, northern Sinaloa)
Sun: Full sun.
Growth Habits: Solitary, up to 8 feet tall (2.4 m), 40 inches wide (1 m); 15 to 30 ribs or more.
Blooming Habits: Red funnel-shaped flowers in June to August, up to 3 inches long (7.5 cm), 2 to 2.8 inches wide (5-7 cm). Fruit ovoid to oblong, 2 inches long (5 cm), 1.2 inches in diameter (3 cm), with heart-shaped scales.
Watering Needs: Little water when established.
