This rare specie grows just outside Nampula, central Mozambique amongst granite rocks on the top of a mountain. This medium sized clumping cycad grows to about 3m, with up to 4 erect or reclining trunks, the leaves grow up to 2m long, with dark green leathery leaflets. It prefers a sunny, extremely well drained position.
