Cycas revoluta are often called "living fossils", Cycads have changed very little in the last 200 million years. They come originally of southern Japan, this plant is drought tolerant and will grow well in shaded areas or in full sun. Since the plant is slow-growing it is also a popular bonsai plant. New leaves may turn yellow from poor soil conditions, do not allow it to become excessively dry when new leaves are being produced, the new leaves may die or turn yellow under dry soil conditions.
