Butia odorata
Butia odorata now described and classified as a separate species under the name Butia catarinensis. Native to Southern Brazil and named locally Butia de Bahia or Butia of the beach. The palm is small compared to the usual Butia capitata, the trunk is very fine and the palm rarely reaches 3 m height. The span rarely exceeds 2 meters. Considerably hardy, and a extremely beautiful palm, rarely offered with big trunks. Frost resistant till -5°C.
